Pablo PicassoPablo Picasso
Date: 1881 - 1973

Picasso's status as the giant and pioneer of modern art in the 20th century remains undiminished and testament to this were the recent hugely successful exhibitions at The Museum of Modern Art, New York and Tate Modern, London, featuring many of his finest works. During an incredibly long working lifetime, spanning more than 80 years, Picasso constantly applied an experimental and uniquely innovative approach to his art. The enormous quantity and variety of his work including paintings, sculptures, works on paper, ceramics and poetry remain a lasting tribute to an artist who bares few equals.
